FEMA Required Permit
FEMA now requires all communities with a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) to fill out a Floodplain Development Permit for doing any sort of construction in the Flood Zone. The reason behind this permit is for the municipality to be able to show proof that the project was inspected and all work performed follows the NFIP and the community's floodplain management ordinance.
