  1. The Southern Tier MWBE Regional Opportunities Virtual Expo will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 8:45AM – 3:00PM. The aim of this event is to provide more information on local and regional contracting opportunities as well as capacity-building resources and tools. IN addition to panel sessions, the MWBE is offering one-on-one 10-minute phone or virtual consultations. Please see attached flyer for more information, and share with your networks as you deem appropriate.
  2. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that as of today, the Southern Tier Region has met all seven metrics required to begin phase one of the state's regional phased reopening plan when NYS on PAUSE orders expire on May 15th. If the trend continues, starting on May 15th, our region can begin opening businesses for phase one, which includes construction; manufacturing and wholesale supply chain; retail for curbside pickup and drop-off or in-store pickup; and agriculture, forestry and fishing. A guide to the state's "NY Forward Reopening" Plan is available attached to this message, or online here. The Governor also launched the state's regional monitoring dashboard, which is available here. Businesses in each region will re-open in phases. Re-opening refers to non-essential businesses, essential businesses that are open will remain open. Eligible industries must be in regions that have met the criteria to re-open.
